Short visit in Madrid In the end of august..the hostel is good with Nice and friendly staff, cool people, room are big and you always have your personal space, w.c and shower are ok and clean, good location Not far from Subway and about 15 min far from puerta del sol by foot...Good Price in a good Location so you Must try it!

I'm used to sleep in hostels, but this one is far the worst I've been to. Dirty towels and bed sheets, only 2 wc and 2 showers for a lot of people. Rooms where also dirty, shower was broken. Avoid this place, for the same price you can get much better accommodation in Madrid

To put it nicely, you get what you pay for at this hostel. It is only 10 Euros a night so you can't have too high of expectations. I stayed here for 2 nights and was pleased with what i got for my money. Its a safe place to stay and has a good location. As others have mentioned, it is quite crammed and there is very few bathrooms and showers, but again, your only paying 10 Euros a night with breakfast included. If you're looking for a quick place to rest and don't need anything fancy then this is a fine hostel. However, I wouldn't stay here more than 2-3 nights.

Normally fancy, but gets the job done. I've stayed in the other hostel Era 3 times before and it's always been great. This time the other was full so stayed in Alfonso Martinez. Not as good an atmosphere as the other but fine for a night or two. Clean and friendly, nice staff and breakfast included. Book direct on their website, it's cheaper.

Rooms are a bit cramped, the showers heads were broken and you had to hold the shower head over yourself in your hand, breakfast was basic, WiFi worked okay, it's pretty close to a metro station which was good. Went at a busy time of year but wasn't worth the €30 a night I paid at all.
